Have you taking a Metal Fabrication and/or Welding program in the past but have not successfully gained employment in this specific field of work? The Mi’kmaw Economic Benefits Office has created a partnership with Cherubini Metal Work Limited to give aboriginals an opportunity to work in this industry. As a result from this partnership the successful candidates will move directly into employment with Cherubini and start their on job training as paid employees of the company.

Intro To Basic Electricity

Introduction to basic electricity, Basic circuitry, Theory on Ohm’s Law, series and parallel circuitry, Canadian Electrical Code, how to use the codebook and what it is used for in the Electrical field. This program will be 50% theory and 50% practical. Upon successful completion participants will be indentured as a first year apprentice electrician. The overall goal of this program is to bridge the gap between the unions and the employers. Employers have diversity targets that unions cannot fill with indentured electricians who are aboriginals.

Construction & Oilfield Driver (Class 3)

Construction & Oilfield Program was developed to reflect the most up to date industry trends and standards locally and nationally. The main objective of the program is to train the students to safely proficiently operate class 3 vehicles. In addition to the driving fundamentals, this program provides students with the advanced skills and certificates that are in demand. This program is a Certificate Program approved by the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education (LAE).

PowerTel Powerline Labourer
